WASHINGTON - The United States Mint is seeking applicants for appointment to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC).  The term of one CCAC member will expire in March 2010.  The new member would represent the interests of the general public.  The application deadline is March 31, 2010.  The United States Mint will review all applications and will forward recommendations to the Secretary of the Treasury for appointment consideration.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint today announced that it will begin accepting orders for the 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollar beginning at noon Eastern Time (ET) on February 25, 2010.  

MORAVIA, N.Y. - The United States Mint today released into circulation the newest Presidential $1 Coin.  The coin bears the portrait of the Nation's 13th President, Millard Fillmore.  United States Mint Deputy Director Andy Brunhart officially introduced the coin in a ceremony in Moravia, New York, at Moravia Central School.

WASHINGTON - On February 18, 2010, the United States Mint will release to the Federal Reserve Banks the first new Presidential $1 Coin of 2010, honoring former President Millard Fillmore.  Beginning at noon Eastern Time (ET) the same day, the agency also will accept orders for rolls of Millard Fillmore Presidential $1 Coins at its online catalog, http://www.usmint.gov/catalog.  Each roll, priced at $35.95, contains 25 circulating quality $1 coins from either the United States Mint at Philadelphia or Denver.  The coins are wrapped in specially designed packaging that displays the mint of origin (P or D), the face value of the contents ($25) and the genuine United States Mint logo. 

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - United States Mint Director Ed Moy launched the 2010 Lincoln “Preservation of the Union” One-Cent Coin today during a special ceremony at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM).  The coin’s new reverse (tails side) design is emblematic of President Abraham Lincoln's preservation of the United States as a single and united country, as required by Title III of Public Law 109-145 (the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005).  Americans can expect to see the new coin in their change beginning this year.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint announced today that it will begin accepting orders for its 2010 Presidential $1 Coin Proof Set on February 11, 2010, at noon Eastern Time.  The set contains four proof versions of the circulating Presidential $1 Coins scheduled to be released this year, bearing the portraits of Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan and Abraham Lincoln.  Each coin has a common reverse design featuring a striking rendition of the Statue of Liberty.

NEW YORK - The 2010 Native American $1 Coin made its official debut today at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian George Gustav Heye Center in Manhattan's financial district.  United States Mint Director Ed Moy, joined by Heye Center Director John Haworth, introduced the Nation's newest circulating $1 coin at the event.   Following the event, Moy and Haworth presented each child 18 years old and younger with a newly minted 2010 Native American $1 Coin, and adults exchanged paper currency for rolls of the new $1 coin.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint will open sales for rolls of 2010 Native American $1 Coins at noon Eastern Time (ET) on January 22, 2010.  The 25-coin rolls, priced at $35.95 each, contain circulating quality Native American $1 Coins from the United States Mint facilities at Philadelphia or Denver.  The coins are presented in distinctive numismatic packaging bearing the genuine United States Mint logo, the year 2010, the mint mark of origin ("P" or "D") and the dollar value of its contents.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint today released the four new designs that will appear on the 2010 First Spouse Gold Coins.  The coins will feature Abigail Fillmore, Jane Pierce, James Buchanan's "Liberty" and Mary Todd Lincoln. 

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint today unveiled designs for the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollar.  The Boy Scouts of America Centennial Commemorative Coin Act (Public Law 110-363) authorizes the United States Mint to mint and issue silver one-dollar coins to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. 

Secretary of the Treasury Timothy F. Geithner approved the coin's designs on September 16, 2009.  The obverse (heads side) design, by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program Master Designer Donna Weaver, depicts a Cub Scout in the foreground with a Boy Scout and female Venturer in the background saluting.  The Venturer represents how the Boy Scouts of America organization has evolved over the past century to serve all the youth of America, including girls.  Inscriptions on the obverse are CONTINUING THE JOURNEY, 1910, 2010, IN GOD WE TRUST and LIBERTY.

The reverse (tails side) design, sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Jim Licaretz, features the universal emblem of the Boy Scouts of America.  Inscriptions on the reverse are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, BE PREPARED, E PLURIBUS UNUM and ONE DOLLAR.

The United States Mint will mint proof and uncirculated versions of the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollar in 90 percent silver.  Mintage is limited to 350,000 coins across all product options.  Surcharges collected from sales of the coin are authorized to be paid to the National Boy Scouts of America Foundation, which will make funds available to local councils in the form of grants for the extension of scouting in hard-to-serve areas.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint today announced the new design that Americans will see on the reverse (tails side) of Native American $1 Coins next year.  The design, based on the theme "Government - The Great Tree of Peace," depicts the Hiawatha Belt with five arrows bound together, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, $1, Haudenosaunee and Great Law of Peace.  The United States Mint will commence issuing these coins in January 2010, and they will be available throughout 2010.

WASHINGTON - The United States Mint announced today that it will begin accepting orders for the Margaret Taylor First Spouse Gold Coin on December 3, 2009, at noon Eastern Time (ET).  The one-half ounce 24-karat gold coin, struck at the United States Mint at West Point, will be available in proof and uncirculated versions.

ORANGE, Va. - Admirers of President Zachary Taylor gathered in Taylor Park today, the 225th anniversary of his birth, to celebrate the United States Mint's release of the Presidential $1 Coin struck in his honor.  The launch ceremony was part of the Zachary Taylor Appreciation Day sponsored by the James Madison Museum.
